stc-korea fulfils labour market needs
STC-Korea made an in-depth analysis of the Korean supply of education programs and required competences for a number of relevant professions in the shipping and transport industry. The competences with the highest relevance finally have been incorporated into the education program of the Master Shipping and Transport and short courses.
There is a clear demand and an insufficient supply for professional and practical vocational education and training on logistics for the Korean logistics industry (logistics managers covering the whole chain, forwarders, agents, warehouse management etc.) and for its supporting sectors (e.g. legal, financial, accounting). This is, on top of the macro- economic environment indicators, an important and clear opportunity for the intended Master Shipping and Transport. It also makes clear the necessity and focus for the start of professional, competencies based education and training. Herewith the importance is stressed for the STC- structure of professional curricula, hands- on knowledge and competency building underpinned by modern simulation tools like the Transport Chain Simulator®.
