STC-Korea
In December 2005 the Board of Directors of STC-Group has decided to establish STC-Korea in Gwangyang City, as a branch school of STC-Group. STC-Korea is located in the new Port Marine Centre adjacent to the bay in the Gwangyang Free Economic Zone. This institute has been established in close cooperation with the following institutes:
- The Gwangyang City Government
- The Jeollanam-do Province
- The Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority
- The Korea Container Terminal Authority
STC-Korea will provide vocational education in shipping and transport up to higher management levels, including a Master's Degree Shipping and Transport program.
The demand for this Master course and other management courses in Korea has been clearly expressed by many Korean government bodies, research- and training institutes, associations, as well as many companies active in shipping, transport, logistics and port operations.

Governance and management structure
The Board of Directors of STC-Korea will be advised and supported by two advisory boards:
- a Board of Advisors with officials on behalf of the Korean government, the Major of Gwangyang City and the Gwangyang Bay FEZ; this Board will focus on organizational, political, financial and legal support;
- a Board of Industry with managers from different sectors of the Korean transport industry, which will monitor and guarantee continuously that STC-Korea only develops and performs activities according to the demand from the Korean and international transport industry.
